"A Sculpture Garden was born today!"

Those were the words of our fabulous Memphis Garden Club volunteer Ruthie Bowlin, who has worked with us over the past year to turn a collective vision into reality. Under Ruthie's enthusiastic and steadfast leadership, we have pulled together a major renovation of the Sculpture Garden, which will include the sculptures you see here and at least three more installations over the coming weeks.

Yesterday, artist Jim Buchman was on hand to personally oversee the first installation. Three of his impressive abstract figure forms were placed on bases in the garden’s newly-constructed beds. These frame the area and give it a dramatic new look, as guests embark from the Visitors Center to begin their exploration of the grounds. We are especially appreciative of the talented staff of Mallory Alexander International, who generously worked with us to move the massive pieces from the artist’s studio to their new home at the Garden.

Come see these sculptures and the changes we've made, and stay tuned for more updates as this amazing new space progresses!
