Echinacea purpurea - Say that 3x's fast!

As you walk the MBG  grounds, you may have wondered what the large purple daisies are in Celebration Stroll and the Butterfly Garden. It is Purple Cone Flower, Echinacea purpurea, a native wild that does quite well as a cultivated plant in our gardens. There are a number of named varieties available, some in other colors, but I like the original purple best of all. A great perennial for our hot summers!
