The Buzz

It’s finally fall!  The weather is turning and so are the leaves!

The ash trees by Ray Deaton Lake (a.k.a. "Audubon Lake) at the back of the Garden provide some of the best fall color at MBG. When you get just enough wind the golden leaves dance in the wind all around. It’s a picture perfect scene.

The weather will be perfect tomorrow for our annual Halloween Hike that begins in this beautiful spot and takes you and your family on a fun hike through the Garden, with stops at stations where kids can visit with some “friendly” Halloween characters. Go on a bone dig with Indiana Bones, learn how to identify animal skulls with Professor Fang, make your own apple cider with Little Orchard Annie, and even get some toy and candy treats along the way.

Visit My Big Backyard to see what the Playhouse Pals have in store! Finish your day off with time around the campfires and listening to some great music.

Before you know it, winter will be here and all those leaves will be on the ground…so catch it while you can!
