Hands-on Valentine's therapy - guest post by Laurie Williams

On January 23rd, Memphis Botanic Garden’s Outreach program went to Martha’s Manor to make Valentine's cards for the troops overseas. Martha’s Manor is a day program for women with developmental disabilities. The ladies had a blast and completed 55 cards and envelopes. The workroom looked like Valentine’s Day blew up in there!

Schilling Farms YMCA is coordinating the effort to make sure the cards are sent in a timely fashion. They will be collecting cards through January 31st at their 1185 Schilling Blvd. E. location. If you'd like information about contributing to the Valentine's for Veterans, call 901.850.9622.

The Garden conducts outreach therapy programs with Martha's Manor and other groups throughout the year, thanks to generous support from Caesars Entertainment.
