2013 Idea Garden: The ReGarden
We've all heard "Reduce, Reuse, Recyle" but what about ReGarden? When you visit the Idea Garden in My Big Backyard this spring, you will see this in practice! We are taking items like old tires, pallets, and even a boat, to create this unique garden design! Features will include creative borders, structures, and containers made from re-purposed materials. A “Funky Flower” interactive display will give you a chance to create your own art to add to the garden. A new willow arcade will provide both beauty and shade for this activity area. Children can take an active role in garden recycling as they learn how nutrients are “recycled” in compost bins and water is “reused” in a rain barrel. You’ll even learn how plants can be recycled with a display dedicated to favorite pass-along plants that gardeners share with one another, as well as a “Seeds from Supper” display on starting seeds from your dinner leftovers.
To make this garden grow we need your help! If you have any of the items listed below, we would love to add them to our garden! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange drop off.
